Stainless Steel Exhaust Pipe

For this year I replaced the standard chromed mild steel exhaust pipe with a stainless steel one supplied by Stewart Engineering.
I rode the Sunbeam to Lower Normandy from Hertfordshire in June in the company of two Honda Goldwings. We cruised at 60 mph plus, total mileage for the week was 660. Then in August going from the Hook of Holland to Belgium and France, total mileage 740.

I found the engine ran smoother on the motorways. The engine ticked over like a clock even after a long motorway run. I put this down to the stainless exhaust absorbing the heat from the cylinder head very quickly.
Also the increased offset of the carburettor further into the airstream possibly helped.
