My Sunbeam S8 1949

I rescued the bike from Carlisle and trailered it back to my home. If I say the oil in the sump was one part sand to two parts sludge, I am sure the reader will know what state the bike was in..
It could only be with the splendid help and spares from Stewart Engineering that the bike was completed in ten months. Since then the bike was out on the road at every opportunity. A holiday in Normandy showed up some shortcomings in the braking, which have been overcome this year. The bike has been very reliable and especially comfortable. The Sunbeam frame gives exceptional roadholding even in the wet. I use Metzeler tyres as they always inspire confidence.
